Massage Therapist
As we near the end of this year’s Advent Calendar, we’re looking for ways to wind down and relax, so what could be better than exploring the career of a Massage Therapist, from our Complementary Therapy sector.
We offer a range of qualifications in Complementary Therapies. A Complementary Therapy qualification is a great starting point from which embark on a career in massage.
To begin a career in this field, you’ll need to complete a level 2 diploma in Complementary Therapies, then move in to a level 3 diploma in massage therapy. These qualifications will give you the techniques and skills to thrive in the industry. If you want to specialise further after your level 3, you can move into a level 4 and this will add additional techniques for treatment application to your existing repertoire whilst further developing your knowledge of the theories and practices for advanced applications of massage.
As a Massage Therapist, you can work in commercial beauty salons, destination spas and day spas, or, independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings.
We have asked industry and education experts to answer some of the key questions that you might be asking as you start thinking about a career as a Massage Therapist. Click the information sheet to read their insights.
